MetaTrader 4

Import closed transactions from the MetaTrader 4 HTML account statement.

Export from MetaTrader 4

1. Open MetaTrader 4 and select the Terminal window at the bottom.
2. Open the Account History tab.
3. Right-click in the history and select the period you want to export.
4. Right-click again and choose Save as Report.
5. Save the statement as an HTML file.

Upload to Tradeways

1. In the Trade Log, select Add Trades, then select File Upload.
2. Select MetaTrader 4.
3. Drop the HTML file in the upload area or select it from your device.
4. Select the timezone of the MetaTrader 4 server. The statement contains no timezone. A wrong timezone moves executions to another session or trading day.
5. Review the preview and check the execution count and grouped trades.
6. Confirm the import.

The MT4 ticket number is the duplicate key. An overlapping statement is safe to upload again.

File Requirements

• Use the .html or .htm statement produced by Save as Report. Detailed statements from other tools are not supported.
• The statement needs English column headers: Ticket, Open Time, Type, Size, Item, Price, Close Time, Commission, Taxes, Swap, and Profit.
• Tradeways reads the Closed Transactions section. Both UTF-8 and UTF-16 encoded files are read.
• The account currency is detected from the statement header.

Supported Data

Each closed transaction becomes an entry and an exit execution with volume in lots, open and close prices, and open and close timestamps. Commission and taxes are added together as the trade cost. Swap and the broker-reported result are stored for reconciliation.

Symbol suffixes are removed: a leading # or ., and a trailing broker code such as .ecn or .raw. #AAPL becomes AAPL, and EURUSD.ecn becomes EURUSD.

Limitations

• Open trades are not imported. Rows under Open Trades are reported as skipped. Close the position or use manual entry.
• Non-trade rows are skipped. Balance, credit, and deposit rows have no Buy or Sell type, so the preview lists them as skipped.
• Server timezone. MT4 timestamps use the broker server clock. Check the server time in the terminal when you are unsure which timezone to select.
