Markets & size
Compare instruments, asset classes and position sizing against the rest of your trading.
Markets & size
Open Analytics → Edge → Markets & size to compare where you trade and how your position size changes. The page follows your account scope, filters, date range, P&L display mode and timezone. Select a comparison to inspect its trades, then select a trade to open it.
Markets
Each symbol and asset class compares with the remaining trades in the view. Symbols are grouped with their asset class, so matching ticker names in different classes remain separate. Your most traded market is the symbol and class with the most trades in this view; it compares with your other markets. If only one market or class is present, there is no other group to compare it with.
The list comes from your trades. It is not limited to a fixed set of instruments. Results use your active P&L mode; in tick modes only the main instrument class carries a value, and the page reports exclusions.
Position size
Sizes are normalized within the same instrument and account. Raw quantities from different markets are never compared as if one share, contract or lot represented the same exposure. Quantity is the completed trade’s total entry quantity, including scale-ins; it is not the size of its first order. Relative quantity is a measure of sizing behavior, not capital at risk.
| Comparison | Definition |
|---|---|
| Larger size after a win streak | More than 1.25 times your usual size after at least 2 consecutive closed winners in the same account, compared with other entries following such a streak. The streak can cross days. |
| Size over time | The later half versus the earlier half of eligible entries in each account and instrument. Size is relative to the median quantity of its first 5 earlier closed trades in the view; 1× means that initial size. This comparison measures relative size, not P&L. |
| Smallest and largest positions | The bottom and top quarters of relative size, compared directly with each other. Middle sizes are excluded. Equal sizes do not create a comparison. |
Your usual size is the median of up to 50 earlier closed trades on the same instrument in the same account, with at least 5 earlier closes required. Only trades closed before the measured entry contribute to its baseline. The smallest and largest positions use this rolling reference; size over time keeps its initial reference so gradual changes remain visible.
Reading the evidence
Each comparison shows both averages, trade counts and confidence. At least 5 trades on each side are needed to measure a difference. A finding must meet stronger evidence requirements before it is rated Likely or Confirmed; see Habits.
Changing the filter also changes the most traded market, the historical size baselines and the comparison groups. Differences describe the selected history. A larger position's P&L can differ because of its size, and a market comparison does not isolate strategy or entry quality.
