Import futures trades from the TopstepX trades export.

Export from TopstepX

1. Sign in to TopstepX and open the Trades tab.
2. Select Export in the bottom-right corner.
3. Choose the date range you want to export and confirm.
4. Save the CSV file.

Upload to Tradeways

1. In the Trade Log, select Add trades, then select File upload.
2. Drop the CSV file in the upload area or select it from your device.
3. Review the preview and check the execution count, contract symbols, and commissions.
4. Confirm the import.

The File timezone selection does not apply to this export. Each timestamp carries its own UTC offset, so Tradeways converts it directly.

Tradeways recognizes this export from its layout and reads it with the rules on this page. A file without this layout is read as an unknown layout: Tradeways matches its columns, and these rules do not apply. See Import Trades.

The Topstep trade ID is the duplicate key. An overlapping export is safe to upload again.

File Requirements

• Use the trades_export CSV from TopstepX.
• The file needs these columns: Id, ContractName, EnteredAt, ExitedAt, EntryPrice, ExitPrice, Fees, PnL, Size, and Type. Tradeways recognizes the export by ContractName, EnteredAt, ExitedAt, EntryPrice, and ExitPrice. A recognized file without one of the other columns is blocked before the preview, and the error names the missing columns.
• TradeDay, TradeDuration, and Commissions may be present. Tradeways ignores them.
• Amounts are read as US dollars.

Supported Data

Each row is one round trip and becomes an entry and an exit execution. Futures contract symbols are preserved exactly and resolved to their root instrument, so MNQZ5 imports as a dated MNQ contract. Fees is the round-trip cost and is converted to a per-contract commission rate. PnL is kept for reconciliation against your statement.

Limitations

• Round trips only. The export has no individual fills, so a scaled entry appears as one execution at the average price.
• Open trades are not in the export. A position that is still open has no exit row and does not reach Tradeways.
• One layout. The Topstep rules read this layout only. Export the trades list again instead of editing the header.
