Click Add Trades in the Trade Log to open the import wizard.

Step 1 — Select Method

  • File Upload — import from a broker CSV
  • Manual Entry — opens the create trade sheet directly
  • Auto Sync — not yet available

A Load demo trades link populates the account with sample ES futures data.

Step 3 — Upload File

The wizard shows broker-specific export instructions. Drag and drop your CSV onto the upload zone, or click to browse. Parse errors are shown immediately if the file is unreadable.

Step 4 — Preview and Confirm

The preview shows:

  • Number of executions found and skipped
  • Number of trades they group into
  • Table of recognized executions: Symbol · Side · Qty · Price · Time

Review the list, then click Import N Trade(s) to confirm. Warnings appear for unknown symbols or skipped rows.

Duplicates

Tradeways deduplicates at the execution level. Each execution is identified by a combination of broker order ID (or position ID), symbol, timestamp, quantity, and price. The same trade cannot enter the journal twice, including when:

  • You re-upload the same file.
  • Your export range overlaps a previous import.
  • You also use live sync via an integration.

Known executions show up in the preview as "skipped".
