Manage your subscription plan, monitor resource usage, and access invoices from the billing settings page.
Billing
The billing page at /settings/billing lets you manage your subscription, compare plans, and monitor resource usage. Access it from Settings → Billing.


Plans
Tradeways offers two plans. Both include trade imports from any broker, a full trade journal with notes and tags, review sessions, AI trade analysis, customizable dashboards, and strategy tracking. The plans differ in capacity limits:

Annual billing saves approximately 17% compared to paying monthly.
Subscription Status
At the top of the billing page, a status card shows four fields at a glance:
- Effective plan -- your current plan name (Basic or Pro).
- Subscription status -- the current state of your Stripe subscription.
- Billing -- the amount and interval you are billed (e.g. $49 / month).
- Next billing -- the date your current billing period ends.
Status Values
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Active | Your subscription is current and payment is up to date. |
| Trialing | You are in a trial period. Access is active until the trial ends. |
| Past due | A payment attempt failed. Update your payment method to avoid losing access. |
| Canceled | Your subscription has been canceled. Access continues until the current period ends. |
| Paused | Your subscription is temporarily paused. |
| Unpaid | Multiple payment attempts have failed. Access may be restricted. |
Changing Plans
Upgrades
Upgrading to a higher plan (e.g. Basic to Pro) applies immediately. The price difference is prorated for the remainder of your current billing period.
Downgrades
Downgrading to a lower plan (e.g. Pro to Basic) is scheduled to take effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan's limits until then.
Interval Changes
Switching billing interval (monthly to annual or annual to monthly) is also scheduled at the end of the current period.
Pending Changes
When a downgrade or interval change is scheduled, an alert banner appears on the status card showing the type of change and the effective date. Click Restore pending change to cancel the scheduled change and keep your current plan and interval.
Usage
Below the plan selector, a usage grid shows how many resources you have used against your plan limits. The tracked resources are:
- Accounts -- trading accounts you own.
- Strategies -- strategies you have created.
- Mentor relationships -- active mentoring connections.
- Custom dashboards -- dashboards you have built.
A separate card shows AI (alpha) messages with your current count, the plan limit, and the date when your monthly quota resets.
When you reach a limit, the affected resource is locked. You cannot create new instances of that resource until you upgrade or free up capacity. Locked resources display a badge and an upgrade prompt directing you to the billing page.
Managing Your Subscription
Click Open billing portal to open the external Stripe billing portal. From there you can:
- View and download invoices.
- Update your payment method.
- Review your full billing history.
The portal link is only available when you have an active Stripe subscription.
