Timing
Compare entry hours, sessions, weekdays and holding time against your other trades.
Timing
Open Analytics → Edge → Timing to see when your results differ from the rest of your trading. The page follows your account scope, filters, date range, P&L display mode and timezone. Select a comparison to inspect its trades, then select a trade to open it.
Entry hours and weekdays compare each group with entries outside that group. A finding rated Likely or Confirmed can identify a time window to review. The comparison describes your history; it does not establish what you would earn by changing your schedule. See Habits for the confidence labels and minimum samples.
Sessions
Sessions use weekday reference windows in their own local time:
| Window | Local time | Timezone |
|---|---|---|
| Asia | 09:00–15:00 | Asia/Tokyo |
| London | 08:00–16:30 | Europe/London |
| New York | 09:30–16:00 | America/New_York |
These are clock windows, not the exchange schedule for your instrument. They follow daylight saving changes, can overlap and do not account for market holidays. Weekend entries are excluded from session comparisons. A session compares entries inside its window with other weekday entries. Its opening 30 minutes compare with later entries in that same window.
Week context and holding time
| Comparison | Definition |
|---|---|
| Monday after a losing week | Monday entries after a negative realized result in the previous Monday–Sunday calendar week, compared with other eligible Monday entries in the same account. Weeks use your timezone and the trades in this view. |
| Longer than usual holds | More than 1.5 times the median holding time of up to 50 earlier closed trades on the same instrument in the same account. At least 5 earlier closes are needed. |
| Losing and winning holds | Average holding time of losing trades versus winners. Breakeven trades are excluded. Values are durations, not P&L. |
| Across lunch | Trades that remain open throughout 12:00–13:00 in your timezone, compared with other trades. A trade held overnight can also cross lunch. |
Monday comparisons are unavailable when the previous week has no closed results in the view or contains results that cannot be expressed in the selected P&L mode. Holding-time baselines use only trades that had already closed when the measured trade opened.
Reading the evidence
Each comparison shows both averages, its trade counts and confidence. Small groups remain visible, but need at least 5 trades on each side before a difference can be measured. Changing the filter changes both the comparison groups and their historical baselines. In tick modes, P&L comparisons use the main instrument class and report excluded trades rather than combining incompatible units.
