Widgets
Choose and configure dashboard widgets for trading, process, and journal data.
Widgets
Widgets show a focused calculation, chart, list, or journal source. Use them on dashboards and supported page widget areas.
The picker is the authoritative catalog. Available widgets can depend on your plan, account data, page, and permissions.
The picker groups its entries in sections:
- Based on Your Data — suggestions calculated from your trades.
- Widgets — the base catalog. Configure each one in widget settings.
- Strategy & Review — strategy analytics and review workflow widgets.
- Quick Add — pre-configured widgets, grouped as directional, time period, result-based, asset class, and analysis.
- Your Symbols, Your Asset Classes, Your Tags — a P&L card filtered to one symbol, asset class, or tag.
Search the picker by widget name or description. Keep the pointer on a row to see a preview.
Performance widgets
Performance widgets show one measure as a card. The catalog covers P&L, win rate, trade count, average trade, expectancy, profit factor, technical profit factor, average day return, average week return, risk-to-reward, largest win and loss, maximum drawdown, average holding time, commission, quality rate, Sharpe ratio, Sortino ratio, Kelly criterion, and trade, day, and week result streaks.
The Sharpe ratio and the Sortino ratio use an annualized risk-free rate. Set the rate in widget settings.
These widgets use closed trades unless the widget states another scope. A blank value can mean that the calculation needs more trades, a starting balance, conversion rates, or another required input.
Charts and distributions
Chart widgets cover the equity curve, P&L per trade, P&L per trading day, cumulative trade count, time of day, day of week, distribution, and a price chart with trade overlays. Heatmap widgets cover the current week, the current month, the 12 months of a year, and a daily activity grid for the full year.
The distribution widget groups by symbol, direction, or asset class. Select the dimension in the widget itself. The strategy distribution widget groups by strategy, and its setting selects trade count or P&L.
A chart can be empty when the selected filter has records but none meet the widget's calculation requirements.
Strategy, review, Score, and goal widgets
Process widgets use strategies, rules, compliance checks, review state, Score, and goals.
Strategy and review widgets have a strategy scope: All visible or Specific strategies. They can also follow the strategy or review context of the page that holds them. Ranked widgets add a sort metric — P&L, win rate, profit factor, or compliance — and a row limit. Trend widgets add a day or week granularity and a lookback in days. The goal progress widget can show only the thresholds that are at risk.
Missing manual assessments stay incomplete. A review widget does not mark a trade reviewed. A goal widget reports the stored goal state and its calculated progress.
Journal widgets
Journal widgets can show a notebook, recent entries, or a folder tree. Select the source and open behavior in widget settings. Editing access follows Journal and mentoring permissions.
The notebook widget reads today's note, this week's note, or a specific page. It opens the page in a dialog, or you edit it in the widget. The journal entries widget sets the entry count, the entry types, the sort order, and the open behavior. The folder widget sets a root folder, and it opens a preview or navigates to the page.
Lists
List widgets show records such as recent trades, strategy comparisons, top broken rules, outstanding reviews, and goals that need attention. Select a row to open the source record. The list follows its account and filter scope.
The recent trades widget sets its visible columns and its row count.
Widget settings
Open a widget's settings in dashboard or page edit mode. The dialog has three tabs: Settings, Filter, and Style.
The Settings tab holds:
- A custom title.
- A pinned account. Use active account follows the account switcher. A mentoring area always uses the current mentoring account.
- The options of the selected widget type, if it has any.
Settings that do not apply to the selected widget are not shown.
Widget filters
The Filter tab can narrow one widget. Replace ignores the dashboard filter. Layer combines the widget filter with it.
The tab holds the same fields as the global filter: date range, status, side, result, review state, instrument type, symbols, tags, strategies, entry price, position size, weekdays, and time of day. Clear filter removes the widget filter.
A pinned account and a widget filter are separate controls. The account selects the record source. The filter narrows records from that source.
Widget style
The Style tab controls how one widget looks. Use global theme keeps the style from Appearance settings. Override sets the style for this widget only. Select the Tradeways, Minimal, or Elevated preset, or select Custom to set the accent color, border, shadow, header accent, metric accent, background tint, and density. Reset to global removes the override.
Data states
- Loading means that the source is still being requested.
- Empty means that no matching records exist.
- Unavailable means that a required account, permission, or source no longer exists.
- Partial means that Tradeways can show some data but lacks a required value for the full calculation.
- Error means that the request or calculation failed. Retry it before you change the layout.
Open the related account, trade, strategy, goal, or journal source when a widget identifies missing data. Do not treat a placeholder as zero.
